Hague Fasteners is proud to have featured in a recent news article of a major Birmingham centre for further education: Bournville College.
We believe it is vital that every effort is made to keep the momentum of apprenticeship schemes going for the future of UK manufacturing, both to ensure the UK remains competitive globally and to reduce the skills gap.

Since September 2012 Hague Fasteners has worked closely with Bournville College to take on two new apprentices to help with our custom fasteners operations. One apprentice started in September in an office-based administration role and the second apprentice started work on the factory floor as an trainee CNC engineer. They are released one day each week to study further at college and are both working towards an NVQ qualification.
They have both settled into their respective roles effortlessly.
We have found the whole experience truly worthwhile, finding two excellent new members of staff in the process.
We hope to add to this list a new apprentice in the warehouse & despatch department and thank Bournville College for their continued support with our search for this third new member of staff. The future of manufacturing will only survive if these schemes are given the support from the private sector. We need the opportunity to train eager indivduals so that we may pass on vital key skills in the field of engineering that otherwise would be lost.
