Wolverhampton Wanderers Sponsors Lunch 2012/2013

Earlier this week saw Hague Fasteners attend the Wolverhampton Wanderers 2012/2013 Sponsors Lunch.

This annual event is attended by Sponsors of the Championship Club, and Hague Fasteners enjoyed an afternoon with the Staff and Players of the Club.

Hague Fasteners were joined on their table by their sponsored player, Bjorn Sigurdarson. The Wolves number 15 is an Icelandic international who plays as a striker.

Björn presented Hague Fasteners CEO, Jon Hague with his Home & Away match shirts which he cordially signed over lunch.

Hague Fasteners were also thrilled to be joined by the Ireland Under 21 Goalkeeper Aaron McCarey, who is currently breaking into the Wolves first team after a successful loan spell with Walsall.

Despite a rather disappointing season Hague Fasteners, being a long established Wolverhampton based custom fastener manufacturer, are proud of their continued support of Wolverhampton Wanderers and wish them success as they strive to maintain their Championship status over the remaining few weeks of the season.

Socket Screws from Hague Fasteners

What is a Socket Cap Screw?

A Socket Cap Screw is a type of fastener that is used with an Allen key – these screws will have a hexagonal hole in the head instead of the usually flathead ‘line’ or Philips ‘cross’ which most traditional screws have.
Socket cap screws are usually manufactured using high strength steel, although often they’re made using other types of steel alloys and metals such as stainless steel, aluminium and titanium.
The socket cap screw is praised for being a strong fastener and is used in heavy duty fastening where normal screws could not withstand the pressure.

Non-Standard Socket Screw

Non-standard screws are usually formed from a standard screw – but changes are made such as length, width, and head size.

These changes allow for non-standard screws to be used where a standard screw would not be sufficient.

Non-standard screws can have many benefits such as security, if you were using a non-standard screw a normal Philips screwdriver, Flathead screwdriver or Allen key would not be able to unscrew them.

Hague Fasteners

Socket cap screws and non-standard socket screws are all available from Hague Fasteners.
Founded in 1971 Hague Fasteners are specialist manufacturers of threaded and milled fasteners in many different types of material. Our area of focus is the manufacture and supply of more difficult to obtain fasteners, these fasteners are not readily available from fastener stockists.

We use many materials including high integrity steel and Superalloy bars which we have considerable stocks of – allowing us to offer Custom, Standard or Modified Fasteners in a very short lead time.

Hague Fasteners Product Showcase: Studbolts

Standard studbolts are now widely available off the shelf in the more obvious ASTM grades such as B7, B7M, L7, L7M, B8 or B8M, but we continue to provide a unique manufacturing service of studbolts and ancillary products such as washers in the more exotic materials.

Recent projects have seen studbolts and threaded rod, complete with heavy hex nuts, to BS4882 or ANSI B16.5 and ANSI B18.2.2 or BS1769 respectively, being manufactured by us in the Duplex grade 254SMO (Also known under the specifications UNS S31254, 1.4547, X1 CrNiMoCuN 20-18-7 and F44).

Over the years we have produced studbolts and heavy hex nuts in a wide range of these Duplex and Super Duplex grades as well as in grades of Incoloy, Inconel, Hastelloy, Monel, Titanium and many other nickel-based critical alloys.

As we are not stockists of petrochemical grade studbolts and hex nuts we will not be able to compete with importers who buy their product in bulk quantities, but we are very competitive with any item that they do not have on their shelves or in their stock, particularly in these critical alloys and with rolled or screw-cut threads.

We can produce any type of studbolt:  threaded rod (DIN975 & DIN976), tie bar, waisted studbolts (DIN2510), engineer studs (DIN938) slotted studbolts & wheelstuds or to your specific drawings or sample pieces.  Please contact us for more details or view our sales brochure.

Apprenticeship Scheme Alive & Kicking At Hague Fasteners

Since September 2012 Hague Fasteners has worked closely with Bournville College to take on two new apprentices to help with our custom fasteners operations.

One apprentice started in September in an office-based administration role and the second apprentice started work on the factory floor as an trainee CNC engineer.  They are released one day each week to study further at college and are both working towards an NVQ qualification.

They have both settled into their respective roles effortlessly.

We have found the whole experience truly worthwhile, finding two excellent new members of staff in the process.

We hope to add to this list a new apprentice in the warehouse & despatch department and thank Bournville College for their continued support with our search for this third new member of staff.

The future of manufacturing will only survive if these schemes are given the support from the private sector.  We need the opportunity to train eager indivduals so that we may pass on vital key skills in the field of engineering that otherwise would be lost.

Who are Hague Fasteners? And what do they specialise in?

Hague Fasteners excel in all aspects of engineering products and work in many different sectors, such as engineer studs, socket cap screwsand all sorts of other manufactured fastener products.

Many of the Socket products we manufacture are in the Duplex or Super Duplex steels, or indeed in more critical high specification Super alloys. As a very experienced company we are always being asked for the most wanted and desired products and recently we are finding that the biggest call is now for Non Standard Socket Screws that are modified versions of existing international standards or indeed custom bespoke bolting manufactured to Customer or OEM Drawings.

As a fastener industry leader we have always tried to build a strong relationship with fastener stockists and wholesalers in the UK and overseas. The aim of our company is not to treat fastener stockists as a competition, but is to make sure that our Company complements the standard range that each standard fastener company offers their own clients.

We have a very long tradition of assisting fastener stockists, wholesalers and general engineering supply companies with the manufacture of fasteners they would not or no longer keep on their shelves, including items to drawing or customer samples.

Another of our specialties as a fastener company are engineer studs, we manufacture a range of engineer studs manufactured at the highest standards to suit all requirements. A stud (studbolt) is a round metal bar screwed at both ends or fully screwed.  Engineered stud bolts can also have flanges at a set distance from one screwed end which provides a positive collar against which the stud is tightened. Engineer Studs with larger diameters, longer lengths or through drilled are our niche. Our excellence shines through with the High Temperature Material Grades and Super Duplex & Critical Stainless Steel Materials.
