Different Products Here at Hague Fasteners Including Engineer Studs.

As a fastener industry we have always try to build a strong relationship with fastener stockists and wholesalers in the UK and overseas. The aim of our company is not to treat fastener stockists as a competition, but is to make sure that our company complements the standard range that each standard fastener company offers their own clients. We have a very long tradition of assisting fastener stockists, wholesalers and general engineering supply companies with the manufacture of fasteners they would not or no longer keep on their shelves, including items to drawing or customer samples.
One of our specialites as a fastener company are engineer studs, we manufacture a range of engineer studs manufactured at the highest standards to suit all requirements. A stud (stud-bolt) is a round metal bar screwed at both ends or fully screwed. Engineered stud bolts can also have flanges at a set distance from one screwed end which provides a positive collar against which the stud is tightened. Engineer Studs with larger diameters, longer lengths or through drilled are our niche. Our excellence shines through with the High Temperature Material Grades and Super Duplex & Critical Stainless Steel Materials.
Wheel studs are used for many different automobiles and are the threaded fasteners that hold on the wheels of your automobile. They are semi permanently mounted directly to the vehicle hub, usually through the brake drum or break discs, nuts are fastened over the wheel stud to secure the wheel.
Stud bolts are used mainly to fasten pipes and tubes; they are used as a threaded fastener, with a head, and are designed to be used along with a nut. These are a very sensible and easy way of securing things like piping and tubing in many different industrial applications.

Hague Fasteners, the Real Studs of the Industry

Here at Hague Fasteners we like to manufacture custom fasteners, and we like to do it properly. Every detail has to be exact, and if it’s a custom fastener it needs to match the customer’s requirements exactly. And that’s no different when it comes to studs.
When we mention studs you probably think of attractive males that you’ve seen on T.V, well we’re an engineering company, so that isn’t the case! When we say Studs, we mean Studs – Engineer Studs, wheel studs, and stud bolts. But what are all these different types of stud?

Stud Bolts

Stud bolts are round metal bars that can be screwed at both ends or fully screwed, a bit like a screw with no head. Stud bolts like these are found all over the place, they are similar to doweling rods in the way that they work.
Engineer Studs

Engineer studs are the same as standard stud bolts except they can have flanges at a set distance from one end which creates a positive collar against the surface the stud bolt is tightened too. These are more specific studs.
Wheel Studs

We’ve written up about wheel studs before in a previous post right here on our blog. Wheel studs are on every vehicle with wheels and their purpose is to hold the wheel on to the axis of a vehicle and make it easier the wheels. If you want to know more about them please refer back to here.
Hague Fasteners are always willing to help you if you’re in need of custom fasteners, we manufacture fasteners from OEM Drawings and customer designs so you can be certain that we’ll be able to create the perfect fasteners for you.

Why are Hexagon Nuts & Bolts Hexagon?

Hexagon Nuts & Hexagon Bolts

Hexagon nuts and hexagon bolts are probably the most common type of fasteners, they’re used everywhere.
The reason they’re so popular is because the hexagon shape of the head is very versatile, it can be grabbed by tools from all angles and even by hand if need be.

Hexagon nuts use their shape to their advantage. They’re easy to tighten and loosen thanks to their 6 sides, and you can access them from 360 degrees providing there’s space to move your tools.
These hexagon nuts have been around for a long time, they were first documented around the 1700s and they’ve been used ever since.

The same applies to hexagon bolts, they’re easy to tighten and loosen because of their shape.
The reason they’re hexagon nuts and hexagon bolts and not pentagon or octagon is because the side 6 of a hexagon give enough faces for a tool to grip, but not so many that it’s easily rounded off through use over time. Inevitably the hexagon nuts and bolts will lose some of their shape over time but not having too many sides gives them the best possibly chance of lasting longer.

Non-Standard Socket Screws

In a contrast to hexagon nuts and bolts there’s also socket screws / non-standard socket screws.

Non-standard socket screws have a round head, with a hexagon inset in the top of the head. These screws are made to be used with an Allen key and not gripped by the head. Non-standard socket screws differ from standard socket screws by being different shapes and sizes.

Socket screws and non-standard socket screws are used in many different industries, and you tend to find them in a lot of self assembly furniture and on bicycles as well as many other things.

Hague Fasteners

Hague Fasteners are specialist fastener manufacturers, they manufacture and distribute non-standard fasteners.

Wheel Studs Focus

Fastener Manufacturers

As a fastener manufacturer  that creates screws, nuts and bolts (fasteners) we use a large amount of technology and machinery within our production factory to create all kinds of fasteners from non standard fasteners, every day screws you see often (in special materials) to custom designed fasteners for specialist industries.

As a Fastener Manufacturer we use drawings and other designs to create specific fasteners and Hague Fasteners are specialists when it comes to this kind of special fastener.

Hague Fasteners have over 50 years of experience as fastener manufacturers and our specialist area is custom fasteners that you are not able to get hold of from standard fastener stockists.

We manufacture and supply fasteners to industries all over the world including the Oil industry and the Transport industry.
Within the transport industry there are many different kinds of vehicles, and almost all of these will have wheel studs.

What Are Wheel Studs?

Wheel studs are a type of fastener that are used to hold the wheels on to vehicles. They are mounted directly to the brake disc semi-permanently.

Although many vehicles use bolts instead of studs there are still some advantages to using Wheel Studs.
Wheel Studs allow for easier tyre changes – This is because when Wheel Studs are used they create the ability to lift the tyre and wheel onto the studs, whereas with bolts you would have to lift the tyre and hold it whilst you insert a bolt.

Stud Bolts

A stud bolt is a bolt that is either fully threaded or that has threads on both ends. The purpose of engineer stud bolts is to permanently screw one end into a fixture, and then use a nut on the other end of the bolt. Stud bolts may also be called ‘standing bolts’.

Fastener Manufacturers Hague Fasteners

Fastener Manufacturers

Hague Fasteners are fastener manufacturers. Fastener is another term for a screw, or a bolt.
Since 1971 Hague Fasteners have been highly rated fastener manufacturers, manufacturing any fasteners including custom and non-standard fasteners for many industries including Construction, Oil & Gas, Mining, Ship Building, Chemical, Water, Power Generation, Transport and Steel Fabrication. As you can see from the large list of industries that Hague Fasteners work within fasteners can be found everywhere.
Hague Fasteners occupy a niche area in the Fastener market, manufacturing and supplying fasteners that are more difficult to obtain and not readily available off the shelf or from general stockists. Along with large stocks of high integrity and super alloy bars allow Hague Fasteners to offer their services as fastener manufacturers on a very short lead time.
A key product that Hague Fasteners manufacture is hexagon nuts and hexagon bolts.

Hexagon Bolts

Hexagon Headed Fasteners are a specialty for Hague Fasteners. Many of the hexagon bolts that the fastener manufacturers create are made from Duplex, Super Duplex Steels or high specification Super Alloys.
Over recent years we have found that the biggest calling is now for Metric hexagon bolts – these are modified versions of existing hexagon bolts.

Hexagon Nuts

Just as with the hexagon bolts, Hague Fasteners excel with hexagon nuts. These nuts are created with Duplex Steel, Super Duplex Steel, or just like the bolts, high spec Super Alloy. Hague Fasteners manufacture all kinds of hexagon nuts, standard and non-standard, but just as with the hexagon bolts they’re biggest area is modified versions of existing hexagon nuts.
Hague Fasteners can also create custom hexagon nuts through OEM drawings and Customer Drawings.
