Reverse Engineering

Reverse Engineering of Old or Obsolete Special Fasteners

Hague Fasteners are experts in the Reverse engineering (or Back Engineering) of all types of Engineered Special Fasteners, fixings and turned parts.

We have seen a sharp increase in the need for identification, reverse design and manufacturing of all sorts of components. Often in very small batches such as 2pcs, 10pcs, 25pcs etc. where the component has been in use for many years and there is no longer access to the original parts’ Engineering drawing.

Bespoke Reverse Engineered Fasteners

Often the items are completely Bespoke Fasteners that need making exactly to the dimensions and thread sizes of the existing part.

Reverse Engineering
From Old To New

Hague Fasteners also offer modifications to the parts where required. This is often an increase in material strength or a material upgrade for extra performance and reliability or simply a slight modification to certain sizes. Perhaps increasing the length or changing the thread form.

Engineering Rebuild and Repairs

Our special Fastener reverse engineering service is utilised by companies large and small where old plant or vehicles are being repaired or rebuilt. We are also at hand to assist enthusiasts who are working on private vehicle projects where a part is needed, perhaps some new head studs, or some extended Wheel Studs for a classic car or race car modification.

We are also proven to manufacture very small batches of items that may even be available from other Countries. Our reverse engineered Fasteners offer a UK Manufactured solution cheaper and faster than seeking an overpriced import where the rarity of the product required sees an over inflated price at the expense of the purchaser.

Where a special component is required and their is no access to a drawing or technical design description, Hague Fasteners operate a convenient solution.

1. You obtain a quotation from a photograph, so no need to lose time and money by sending the item in. We just ask that the item is photographed alongside a tape or rule so that we can establish rough sizes and costings to reproduce.

2. We will then send you our formal quotation for reverse engineering the part.

3. If you are happy with the proposed offer you then send in the sample (or we can collect if inconvenient due to component size). We then get to work replicating the item required with a lead time to suit your needs.

We look forward to hearing from you with any requirements you have for replacing older or difficult to obtain Fasteners.

Cast Traceable Fasteners

Cast Traceable Fasteners

The strict procedures we have in place at Hague Fasteners ensures that all items manufactured are Cast Traceable Fasteners and can be fully traced straight back to the original mill. This allows for a full history on every special fastener that we manufacture. One of our main and final processes of the procedure is marking using our CNC dot peened vibro etchers.

All our manufactured bolting is marked with “HF” (Hague Fasteners) followed by the material grade. We can also stamp with any requirements that you may have such as a cast number or unique batch identification number. Therefore we can easily disclose key details about the material including the condition of the material as delivered and any heat treatment processes which may have been applied to the material.

Customers are increasingly asking for manufactured fasteners from European produced steels and Non-Chinese machine shops. Hague Fasteners are proud to advise all of our current and prospective customers that we do not get involved with any Chinese or Far Eastern imports.

If you have any projects that require small volume, special, high integrity fasteners that must not be sourced from China or from Chinese origin materials, we would kindly ask that you give Hague Fasteners a try.

“I was privileged to join this great business 27 years ago. Hague Fasteners was started by my late Father, John Hague, back in 1971 and I was lucky enough to have worked with him for 10 years prior to his retiring. The knowledge and experience I learnt from him was invaluable, but even more defining were the his strong ethics and commitment to each and every Customer, morals and service that was second to none.

It is this same dedication and commitment to giving the very best attention and service to every enquiry and order we receive that has seen Hague Fasteners grow Year on Year since our restructuring at the turn of the millennium.

We are humbled by the outstanding feedback from our clients and this sees the continued drive to further improve and stand out in our field.”

Hague Fasteners, one of the UK’s longest established manufacturers of small quantity batches of Made To Order Bolting, are pleased to give you this really useful Fastener Data Thread Chart.

Guide To Screw Thread Sizes

A great Fastener data chart to help you with the cross referencing of many Imperial and Metric Thread Forms
Click To Download our Fastener Data Sheet Of Screw Thread Sizes.

A single Data reference PDF for Fastener Thread Sizes, Pitches and Cross references across UNC, UNF, UN, BSW, BSF, SI & ISO Metric along with BSP, NPT, NPS & ISO Pipe Threads, American Threads and BA, Conduit and Cycle Threads.

With so many different thread forms used around the World it can quite often be quite difficult to establish the exact thread required, This information, however, is absolutely vital, particularly where reverse engineering takes place to replace bolts that may have been in use for decades. This data sheet helps you by listing all metric and inch imperial threads so you can see the number of threads per inch alongside a metric thread pitch so you can now immediately see what the likely thread is.

Naturally this is an everyday tool for the experts at Hague Fasteners, but we think it only fair to share our handy reference guide with the Engineering Sector and associated industries, with our compliments.

Hague Fasteners have been manufacturing every conceivable thread form since there formation in 1971. It is such a rare thing in these modern times to find a Fastener manufacturer that has such history and such extensive expertise. When it comes to Fastener troubleshooting, reverse engineering or plant and vehicle restorations, Hague Fasteners are at the forefront of British Bolt making to ensure the small quantity of Special Fasteners you need are made as an exact replica that will be fit for purpose giving decades of life and reliability.

Engineer Studs

Hague Fasteners have been manufacturing special engineer studs and waisted studs since 1971.

All special Engineer Studs are made to order so any thread lengths, thread fits or fitted diameter shanks can be easily accommodated.

Likewise all materials are carried in stock so that whenever you have a need for a small batch of double ended studs, Hague can give you an immediate quote and manufacture with a next day delivery if required.

Due to the countless combinations of Engineer Stud type, material grade, thread length configuration, thread form and many other variables, it is impossible to find your custom stud sitting on a stockists’ shelf, but Hague Fasteners can perform an immediate manufacture and supply often faster than a Stockist can draw from stock.

All Hague Fasteners need to know is …

What type of stud you need, is it a conventional Engineer Stud, a waisted stud, tie bars, a collar stud, wheel studs or studs to drawing or your design

What thread type…

are they UNC studs, UNF Studs, BSW Studs, BSF Studs, Metric Studs or Metric Fine Studs or even a combination of different threads on each end, a step down stud for example.

What material grade…

Hague Fasteners make Engineer Studs in all materials: from mild steel and alloy steels through high tensile grade 8.8 Studs, 10.9 Studs & 12.9 Studs. Hague’s forte is in the exotic materials, super duplex grades, stainless steels and critical superalloys.

What qty…

Hague are unbeatable in small batch runs 10pcs, 25pcs, 100pcs, 250pcs, quantities that need making to order.

What dimensional standards…

Of course many Engineer Studs are complete Special Studs made to your designs and drawings, but often special material grade studs are needed to a regular international standard such as DIN525 Studs, DIN938 Studs. DIN939 Studs, DIN940 Studs, DIN2509 Studs. DIN2510 Studs, BS2693 Studs, BS4439 Studs, ANSI B16.5 Studs, NFE25135 Studs or any other international standard stud.
Whatever your need, Hague Fasteners have decades of special material experience, and unrivalled stud manufacturing knowledge to ensure you will get the very best in customer service and delivery for all your engineer stud needs.

Stability in Engineering

Stability in engineering
Why choose financially stable suppliers in a volatile industry?

Your suppliers have a major effect on the quality and reliability of your products and services. Your ability to deliver and provide exceptional levels of Customer service are essential in standing out in your industry, only by ensuring you stand out from the crowd in the right ways can you ensure your Business is unaffected by high risk suppliers.

As companies start to suffer with a downturn in orders the desperation of Sales staff will see offers that seem “too good to be true”. Stock may be sold off cheap or items sold at unsustainable price levels in a vain effort to keep the Company trading. Whilst some purchasers may benefit from this haphazard panic selling in the short term, the risks really are too high. If a deal seems too good to be true then inevitably it will be.

If a supplier lets you down, you let your customers down and your reputation is tarnished. This will only damage your standing in an increasingly competitive marketplace this is unforgivable as sound businesses strive to stay at the top of their game.

Choosing a supplier without insight into their trading position will cost you valuable time and money and eventually customers.

Checking the viability of your suppliers allows you to establish their stability and their ability to provide a quality service and a reliable product in both the medium and long term. Choosing a reliable, financially stable supplier means that you can be confident you can always fulfil commitments to your customers.

More so as we approach the end of 2015, as the year closes Suppliers that have no financial strength may seriously affect the quality of your products and services restricting your ability to deliver on your promises. If a supplier lets you down, you let your customers down.

Choosing a reliable, financially stable supplier means that you can be confident you can always fulfil commitments to your customers.
