Stability in Engineering

Stability in engineering
Why choose financially stable suppliers in a volatile industry?

Your suppliers have a major effect on the quality and reliability of your products and services. Your ability to deliver and provide exceptional levels of Customer service are essential in standing out in your industry, only by ensuring you stand out from the crowd in the right ways can you ensure your Business is unaffected by high risk suppliers.

As companies start to suffer with a downturn in orders the desperation of Sales staff will see offers that seem “too good to be true”. Stock may be sold off cheap or items sold at unsustainable price levels in a vain effort to keep the Company trading. Whilst some purchasers may benefit from this haphazard panic selling in the short term, the risks really are too high. If a deal seems too good to be true then inevitably it will be.

If a supplier lets you down, you let your customers down and your reputation is tarnished. This will only damage your standing in an increasingly competitive marketplace this is unforgivable as sound businesses strive to stay at the top of their game.

Choosing a supplier without insight into their trading position will cost you valuable time and money and eventually customers.

Checking the viability of your suppliers allows you to establish their stability and their ability to provide a quality service and a reliable product in both the medium and long term. Choosing a reliable, financially stable supplier means that you can be confident you can always fulfil commitments to your customers.

More so as we approach the end of 2015, as the year closes Suppliers that have no financial strength may seriously affect the quality of your products and services restricting your ability to deliver on your promises. If a supplier lets you down, you let your customers down.

Choosing a reliable, financially stable supplier means that you can be confident you can always fulfil commitments to your customers.

About Hague Fasteners :-

Hague Fasteners have been trading since 1971 and are unusual in their industry, having grown in financial strength year on year during recent times, giving true stability in engineering

They remain a privately owned manufacturer of Special Engineered Fasteners with strong ethics and focus on “being different”.

Hague Fasteners pride themselves on their exceptional levels of Customer Service, financial strength, stability in engineering and reliability in an often volatile specialist sector.

Engineering Apprenticeships

Engineering Apprenticeships

Hague Fasteners’ continued growth in a saturated industry is, in no small way, down to the persistent policy of bringing in the next generation of young and hungry school leavers yearning to earn a trade in one of the countries booming industries.

Hague Fasteners are serious investors in the local youth, with a strong focus on taking the young men and women from local schools and colleges and giving them a solid foundation in engineering through The Hague Fasteners Apprenticeship Scheme.

With the expert assistance and training given by NOVA training in Willenhall, Hague Fasteners are proud to see the investment in young people paying off as two of their more recent trainees, Hayden Smith & Jamie Fitzpatrick, blossom in their roles within the busy Engineering manufacturing facility at Hague Fasteners.

Company CEO, Jon Hague, reinforced the company ethos saying “it is this next generation of worker that is so important in our Special Fastener Industry. Engineering Apprenticeships are vital for growth, the ability to take school leavers with NOVA training’s fantastic support means we can train and develop the young local talent into our specific sort of staff. Whilst passing on vital skills from some of our more experienced members of staff, these talented youngsters are molded into the very specific high standard support team members that make Hague Fasteners stand out in a very stale, old fashioned, industry. ”

Claire Hague, joint owner of Hague Fasteners and head of Staff Development, went on to say “we are inundated with old fashioned salesmen, production engineers and top level management applying for vacancies here from companies that are perhaps finding things a little difficult, but it is their link to our industry competitors that is the barrier. Our success is due to our being significantly different to the rest of the Special Fastener industry in our exceptional levels of Customer  Service and attention to detail not found at our competitors. We are proud to be different and we don’t want any habits from elsewhere spoiling our ethics.”

Both Jamie and Hayden are now approaching their one year apprenticeship completion date and the skills they now bring by being molded into the ‘Hague Fasteners way’ is a massive boost to the Company. Both youngsters are working to improve the companies despatch department and their freshness ensures Hague never rest on their laurels and that every aspect of the business is encouraged to improve.

British Manufacturing of Studbolts & Nuts – Special Fasteners

Since 1971 Hague Fasteners have perfected the art of Small Batch Special Fastener manufacturing.

From our inception in our earliest form in 1971, our early years saw us dominate the “breakdown delivery service” for troubleshooting emergency supply to the oil & gas industry.

Hague’s British Engineering Group were one of the earliest British manufacturers of Petrochemical Studbolts & Nuts. Their flow line thread rolling production facility in Wolverhampton ensured ASTM quality assured bolting was shipped around the world for Rigs and pipeline maintenance, the original Studbolt Manufacturing Ltd*

However in the late 1980’s due to costing pressures brought about by cheap Asian competition, Hague Fasteners decided to step away from the standard ASTM material production, leaving the regular sized Studbolts & Nuts to the competition. Naturally the market was flooded with often inferior Chinese manufactured cheap bolting, but as was so often seen in the 80’s British Manufacturing simply couldn’t compete with imports from China.

Several British Companies appeared as stockholders to continue the supply of Petrochemical Studbolts and Nuts by importing container loads of Foreign manufactured product. Some even claimed to “Manufacture” but simply cutting lengths of studding to required lengths misleading as the bolts remain imported and not of EU Origin. During this time Hague closed their Studbolt Manufacturing mass production facility and decided to focus their niche on the more specialist material grades where quality & integrity is required above cost alone.

To this day, Hague excel in the manufacture and supply of these Superalloy fasteners. Critical bolting in ASTM A453 660, Inconel 718, Inconel 625, Monel 400 along with Duplex & SuperDuplex Grades S31803, S32550, S32750, S32760.

It is with increasing regularity now that Hague Fasteners are winning orders against the cheap inferior imports where our High Integrity Customers through all Industries are stipulating that Imported Fasteners particularly of Asian Origin must not be supplied. An about turn and a return to British manufacturing excellence. Saving a few pounds is irrelevant if the quality you’re receiving is substandard or the materials received is not in full compliance with the specification required.

The Craftsmen In Fasteners – Risk Free Bolting Solutions Since 1971

* The appearance of “Studbolt Manufacturing Ltd” (now non-trading) in 2003 was as a result of the name being adopted by another firm following the closing down of The Ralin Group’s original named Company in the 1990’s and does not have any connection to Hague Fasteners Limited.

The Art Of Special Fastener Manufacturing

The Internet is full of hollow words, brash claims & empty boasts. You have to tread carefully to ensure you are not misled and that the facts claimed are true.

The same is true when dealing with any industry. Companies claiming to have achieved outstanding feats, to have been the first, the best and the most reliable. It is outrageous claims particularly within the Fastener Industry that see Companies get stuck so often.

There is an Art to engineering, it takes more than a fancy brochure or an outrageous salesman to actually deliver a quality assured special fastener.

Hague Fasteners have been at the forefront of small batch Non Standard Fastener manufacturing since their foundation in 1971.

An archive of their Sales Brochures from 1971 to current day can be seen in the History page of the Hague Fasteners website.

Many of Hague’s new clients tell horror stories of how they thought they’d found a reliable supplier, suppliers claiming to have a wealth of experience in Incoloy, Hastelloy, Inconel, Nimonic or Other Superalloys only to find their order not delivered or ridiculously delayed or worse still the delivery is of poor quality it even of incorrect material.

Hague Fasteners have a vast array of customers from small private specialist firms through to Multinational Blue Chip organisations in all industries that use Hague Fasteners as their first choice for Special Bolting, Precision Engineered Components & Non Standard Socket Screws.

Why not let them quote you for your next Special Fastener, 42 years and still going strong.

A wide range of the manufactured fasteners made in the UK can be viewed on The Hague Fasteners Gallery.
